No thunder in this bird

After much discussions, thoughts, sleepless nights, I finally decided on the TBTS. I had made up my mind on a Royal Enfield but was not sure of which model to go for. But after riding the TBTS for over 3, 000 Kms, I am beginning to regret the decision. I am looking to sell this of and buy an Electra 5S.

The TBTS though has a modern engine, its no way a Bullet. The engine is noisy with all kinds of clicking and clacking noises, the exhaust note is hardly worthy of a Royal Enfield and oil leaks from this so called modern design. If I have to put up with oil leaks then would prefer the good old cast iron Bullets.

List of problems that I have faced with the TBTS;

  1. Oil leak

  2. Starting trouble - Electrical short circuit

  3. Noisy engine - Service center unable to resolve this. All TBTS have this issue

  4. Poor headlight

  5. Rear tyre touchning the body when riding doubles

The only plus point is the mileage, I get about 42-43Kmpl in city.

Often I ride my friends Electra and the more I ride it, the more I am in love with it.

My advice to those wanting a Royale Enfield is choose the TBTS only if you want mileage but if you want the real Bullet feel then go for the Electra 5S.
