I just got a New thunderbird from sarabhai motors nehrunagar, ahmedabad.i was in confusion for 2-3 months. a test ride added to my confusion.
But in just 3 days I feel sorry I didnt buy it 3 months back. One advice for anyone considering a thunderbird. I dont know about previous enfield owners, but any new person will be scared of buying it after a test ride. feels like riding an elephant after using a horse. will I be able to use it like my old bike. is it good for city roads. etc etc
Please dont hesitate, in under 100 km you will be like one with the bike, and forget your old bike. In both city and highway driving. I have to add some more words, so I am telling my story, since I was 12 I had fancied an enfield, (my maternal uncle had one) but I didnt buy it thinking it is not my piece of cake. few months back I had an accident on my fiero f2. I fell and was scratched badly. suffered for some 10-12 days. but what hurt me most was that the idiot who crossed the road without looking just stood up and walked away. in this bike weight and inertia make me more stable in case of an accident and most importantly the person walking across my bike wont be able to stand up for atleast a few weeks. ;-)
