Eye Wash or What?

Hi Friends, I booked my holiday at Royal Goan Beach Club at Royal Palms, Benaulim, Goa, for my family consisting of my wife, my daughter and my self. This happened because the callers from RGBC relentlessly pursued me for over a year, offering me a promotional offer from RGBC that was very cheap and affordable. For just Rs. 3, 000/- for a period of 6 days and 7 nights, I would get a studio type room, with a kitchennete. I was told on call that there would be a centrally air-conditioned room, near the swimming pool in their resort near Benaulim beach, the beach being a stone’s throw away.

I was given a lot of hype about the resort being a 7 star resort with the best rooms, ambience and lots of other goodness. The only condition was that we attend a presentation offered by the resort during our stay. When we started from Bangalore, after having made the bookings, we looked forward eagerly for a lovely holiday. Our hopes of a good holiday evaporated once we reached Royal Palms. The resort was 1.7 km away from the beach. The room offered to us was on the 3rd floor and there were no lifts. The room was dark, dinghy and very unkempt. There were cockroaches all over.

The linen was dirty and the blankets were stinking. The kitchennete was used quite a lot and looked terrible with a stench emanating from its fridge, ovens, stained utensils, sink, etc.The bathroom did not have a tub. The shower was not working and the buckets and mugs were stained. The house-keeping was rude. They would never change the linen everyday. Infact for the 3 days we stayed there, they never changed the linen. The towels were old and shabby. The food was very very expensive. A plate of Puri/Sabji, 3 puris and a bowl of sabji, was costing Rs.70/-. And other dishes were priced heavily.

On enquiring about this, the resort staff would themself suggest to us that we go out and eat at the restaurants near the beach. The buffet dinner was priced at Rs.750/- per head and one day I saw the food being brought in from outside in really shabby utensils and in the most uncouth manner. The treatment, vis-a-vis, offered to the white skinned people in the resort was was very pampering. Those people would spend money and give hefty tips. To these people the resort was a lap of luxury, that I am sure back at home they would never be able to afford at all.

Our experience about the Presentation was that we were considerably pressured and once we said that we were not wanting to buy their time-share, we were mocked at.When we were leaving the resort, the bell boy would not take our luggage to the car. While the foreigners were treated royally, we were royally ignored. The whole experience occurred like an eye-wash, with an intention of just extracting money and making a fortune. Before leaving the resort, I did make a complaint to the management, that went unheard.

Even when I told them that I would bring media attention to my experience they were unshaken and unperturbed. My listening about this company ROYAL GOAN BEACH CLUB is completely shattered and would definitely never recommend them to anyone. Infact if asked or if I come to know that some one is showing interest in the company, I will speak to them and have them re-look at their choice and influence them to not take the products.
