I used to take this airline when I was a student since it was cheaper and in accordance with my budget. When I got my first real job back in 1998, I never bought a ticket from them ever again. In 2005, I was forced to take this airline for a trip to Amman from JFK and I was really surprised by the major changes in customer service and their punctuality. I took it again in 2006 and 2007 and I never had a problem with them. They were on time and sometimes arriving a bit earlier. Leg room is more than what I expected and the food is tasty and is in massive quantities.
I would caution everyone to make sure you arrive at their terminal at least three hours in advance if you are using RJ from JFK, ORD or DTW. They state that quite clearly on their website since the lines are typically long enough to cause such requirements.
Probably some management restructuring and their membership in the One World frequent flyer program improved their performance. I would take that airline anytime a I get a chance.
