Proud Student of Ruia
Being a hardcore fanatic Mumbaikar, it was really a surprise if I wasn’t attracted to Ramnarain Ruia College. It has a wiki page dedicated to it and thanks to all the glorious ex students, a separate wiki page for Ruia college Alumni. That says it.
This college has produced finest actors in Marathi Industry for years. If you just google Ruia college, you will see the alumni such as Isha Koppikar, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Chinmay Mandlekar, (Late) Vinay Apte and many more. Ruia college continuously produces university rank holders for past number of years.
College has a good open space in the middle named as’Quadrangle’ and various events take place there. College has a’Katta’ which is famous over all Mumbai known as’Ruiacha katta’ especially in Marathi people.
College has arts and science streams, both junior and senior batches. The area around the college is very clean, hygienic. The L. Nappo Road is quiet most road in busiest suburb of Mumbai, trees adoring its pavements from Dadar Station. The college is at a walking distance from Dadar western and Matunga Central Station.
College has proved its excellence in Arts as well as Science field, with many activities executed even in summer vacations. This college has earned the’Star College’ award by Mumbai University as well as first ever college in the country to receive prestigious national status of’College of Excellence’. In the next year 2016-17, college will gain’Autonomous’ status as well, being the top college in the Mumbai.
