Hi ms junta!!! its been a long time since ive written a review on mouthshut!!! and theres no way better than to start again with a review on a interesting movie!! so, here it goes!
RULES: *ing milind soman, tanuja and meera vaasudevan
the movie is quite entertaining......and ull find urself sporting a wide smile when u come out of the theatre!!
acting : milind soman looks great in the movie and surprises us with quite a good performance, considering the fact that models dont normally act (act well I mean!!!) meera vaasudevan was good...but sometimes during the movie, her constant unnatural way of crying irritates u..
tanuja reminded me of the old lady in the ayurvedic concepts advertisements the other artistes were fine too
direction : director makes it looks like a childs play!!! and childs work it looks like....but then, it made the movie look cute and refreshing...
music : I just heard one song before the movie and it sounded like a song taken out of a private album...but then a song in the later part of the movie really surprised me..it was definitely the best song!! and lots of people(including me!!) came out of the theatre humming that song....overall, three songs are good!!!
the film definitely doesnt have a mass appeal....and it has been targeted only at the urban audience I guess..college goers and all....
story goes something like this....meera vasudevan is attracted to milind soman, who plays the role of a model in the movie, starting exactly on her 14th birthday(mentions that so many times in the movie that I remember her age too) and starts collecting photos and pictures of him....
and hes the reason why she enters into modelling (photographer) her dadi tells her that if she follows her RULES, shell be able to get milind to love her...
and then 6 rules are told to us by the dadi, (one every day I guess), rules like act as if u dont have any interest in him, always have something mysterious abt you and others(they were probably made up to suit the story)
one fine day, milind soman says that he loves her, and then she acts strange and realises some fundamental things.....things like he loved her not becoz of her, and that she made him love her by following the rules...so she cant accept his love!!
(i felt it wasnt such a big issue, coz both ways, he right now loves her) and so she starts avoiding him... and now, the confused milind soman is helped by the dadi (by another not stated rule) to realise that she really loves him, but doesnt know it herself....
and finally during an outdoor shoot, she suddenly realises that she loves him, when he saves her life!!!
sorry for making the story look stupid, but it isnt the story thats responsible for the success (???) of the movie....
dadis husband, milind somans ex-girlfriend and co-model, and meeras boss make sure that the movie isnt without fun...
overall, a movie thats a good alternative on a relaxed saturday night with ur gf/bf or date, especially when u r planning for dinner after the movie
