This is one funny movie. I saw the original on Christmas Eve thining it was going to be rubbish and was blown away. I thought the sequal would be a cash in attempt and was blown away again. Its superb.
I am a big fan of Jackie Chan movies, he is one seriously funny guy. Chris Rock is like the new Eddie Murphy but actually funny and the two complement each other perfectly in these movies. Its like the old Lethal Weapon formula dusted down and polished and let loose again. It worked then and it works now its still enormous fun. Rock is a motormouth and he never and I do mean NEVER stops talking throughout the whole of this movie - but fortunately he is so funny that you won’t care. Chan is superb again playing his role for laughs but never over the top and the pair gel brilliantly.
Forget the plot, watch it yourself, just be sure that its nothing special because thats not the main point of this movie, its little more than a foil for these two to fit a bunch of ethnic gags and stunts around. rest assured, the stunts are superb and the gags hilarious. You can’t help but love it and its more fast paced than the original.
The bottom line? Go see it, its a fantasti movie, one of those feel good Friday nighters. Ie. Nothing too deep but a lot of fun.
