Every body rushes out to see a jackie chan movie.why?because of the action and laughter and they especially come to see the bloopers at the end.but in this movie the fastest hands in the east meets the biggest mouth in the west.that big mouth belongs to the absolutely hilarious and cracked chris tucker.well I watched this movie because I love jackie chan and chris tucker’s wise comments.
STORY-
there is a villan in hongkong who goes around collecting or should I say stealing ancient chinese ancestral artifacts.stuff that costs millions.the villan’s name is Jun Tao who is actually a brit ambassador and a close friend of the chinese ambassador.this chinese ambassador helped jackie chan in the operations for retrieving the stolen goods.once all the stolen goods are retrieved the brit is unhappy. obviously!so now he wants to be paid for the good that have been taken back.
the chinese ambassador and his daughter now move to los angeles.there the street cop chris tucker is under cover and is trying to capture a man illegally selling C4 explosives.chris tucker blows up half the neighbourhood in trying to capture him.now in the meanwhile the chinese ambassador’s daughter is kidnapped.by whom? take a guess...the brit.this time wants to be paid for his seized possessions.now comes down jackie chan from hongkong to help with the case.but the FBI dont want him there.so they bring in the l.a.p.d cop chris tucker to make sure jackie chan doesnt make it to the embassy in time to start of his investigations.but later on chris tucker and jackie chan go off on their own investigations.
ACTION-
when you know jackie chan is in it there are definitely going to be some good karate chops here and there.well as a stunt co-ordinater jackie chan is brilliant.that kind is imagination is rare among people.he has the ability to use anything around him and turn it into a weapon during the movie and he doesnt spend nights thinking of all this its on the spot thus very intriguing. yes he does make mistakes but they way he does it makes it look so easy.no wonder films with martial arts are a rage.an of course we all come to see the bad guys get a good thrashing.another thing about the way the stunts are choreographed is that they always keep us on the edge of our seats and we wont even take our eyes of the screen even if the building was on fire.
COMEDY-
rush hour is a good action comedy movie.the script is written very well.the character of carter played by chris tucker fits him just fine.the script has all the wise cracks at the right time and it isnt out of place and the way chris tucker says it all will have you off your seats in laughter.the way jackie chan adjusts to the western culture is also done with a lot of comedy in it.that lost expression on jackie chan’s face is what cracks me up.well chris tucker is just hilarious on and off the screen so therefore the perfect man for the job.the actors show the stupidity of these characters in various ways which adds to the laughter.
OVERALL-
on the whole the movie is great.good for the whole family to go for and good for the laughs.the movie is not entirely laughs as it has its serious and emotional moments.rush hour two has also come and gone and in both movies the two actors did brilliantly aas I said earlier that they fit into their characters just right.the way story unfolds is also amazing.at first you think that the close brit ambassador friend of the chinese ambassador is innocent but turns out to the culprit behind the entire plot.the action is worth watching.in simple words ’’jackie chan’’ so you know the quality of the action.
most of the funny parts was supplied through chris tucker.so therefore the movie is evenly balanced out where on one side some one is not trying to be too funny and the other side the other person isnt trying to be too flashy with the action.i would recommend this a must see movie.
