"Rustom" was released on 2317 screens across the domestic market amidst huge hype, promotion and expectations. The movie, which had good advance booking, received good opening and registered an average of 50 percent occupancy on Friday. The movie collected Rs. 14.11 crore nett at the Indian box office and became the fourth biggest Bollywood opener of the year 2016.
The Akshay Kumar and Ileana starrer received good talk from audience and critics and the word of mouth helped the film go from strength to strength on the following days. The Tinu Desai-directed film collected Rs. 16.43 crore on Saturday and Rs. 19.88 crore crore on Sunday in the domestic market.
