I initially approached S K Wheels to take a closer look at Maruti car models. I had not decided on buying any particular model, although I had done quite a bit of research on their models and variants on the web.
First Call: * I enquired about availability of models and delivery schedule, finance options and regular servicing of cars at their workshop. * The information given was prompt and useful, and the subsequent follow-up calls from the sales executive were forthcoming. The place seemed worth a visit.
Showroom Visit: * Showroom is both spacious and well-designed. Cars on display were well apart and each model stood out on its own. The cars in the display area were well maintained. * I was shown all the models and all queries were clarified effectively. The exec was helpful and eager to display the features on all models. I took a thorough look at 4 models: Zen Estilo, Swift, DZire and SX4. Based on my requirements etc, I made my decision on the spot. * NOTE: I did not go for a test drive on any model.
Purchase Details: * Paperwork was effortless. I was informed of the required documents beforehand, and the staff handled all procedures very well. Of course, my payment was also prompt;-) * Delivery was prompt, as promised with completed registration etc within a week, and went ahead as scheduled with no hiccups. * NOTE: I did not go for a Finance option so I have no clue what kind of finance schemes are offered here and whether they are any good. * I had gone for an exchange with my old Maruti car. This was also handled well, and I faced no problems with the procedure. The staff from the "True Value" section was polite and helpful. But I felt I should have gotten a better deal for my old car:-)
Final Delivery: * One small glitch here: There was a scratch on the rear RHS door. I have been promised free repair of the same on first service; will update this review after this is done. * Delivery area is rather cramped as compared to the rest of the premises, but functionally good. Worth mentioning: a Hanuman temple right at the spot, for the religiously inclined, who may wish to initiate their new car accordingly.
Update(21/05/08): They didn’t fix the rear-door scratch during 1st service, and did not get back to me after I reminded them. unfortunately some truths are universal: not all initial promises are kept after the sale is done. Well, it’s in line with expectations; happens everywhere. Note to future customers: Be very assertive with them.
Overall observations: * Sales Division performed well.* Separate review shall be forthcoming for their Service division, in due time:-)
