Sa Re Ga Ma Pa challenge started with a lot excitement and I for one watched almost every episode till the Final Two. This programme aims at nurturing young new singing talents of our country. The show is great and most enjoyed till almost the countdown started. Celebraties were brought in to judge the contestants. Do these young and upcoming actors and actresses know anything about music??? Adding to the vows the public voting was brought in.
Once the public in brought in, its natural that regionalism will prevail. Even this is acceptable going by the rules of the game. But what is beyond my comprehension is the collosal number of votes the channel claims to have received. Sending SMS’s is by no means cheap. I guess one has to shell out a min of Rs6 per sms. Do correct me if i’m wrong. The top contestant getting almost 30-40 lakh votes from the east and northeast is a lil hard to digest. What with the networks being very sluggish is these areas. Are aam janta willing to shell out rs6 per vote to vote for a candidate??
Himani, Nihira and Hemchandra are very talented and was a pleasure to hear them. Hemchandra was outstanding. His redention of the song from the film ’Taal’ in his last performance was SIMPLY MINDBLOWING. It brought tears in many eyes. We’ll miss hearing all the three.
Overall this programme seems a lil honest than other reality shows we are subjected to.
