The first week after was released it shot up to the top of the box office with a booommm!!Usually I dont watch tamil movies often, but when I saw the trailor of saamy I was determined to watch it and I succeeded.
In this current trend of tamil cinema where mostly the movies are based on love stories, this police-cum-porukki thriller is really something different. The movie commences in a market place with Saamy disguised as a rowdy and then he reveals himself as the deputy commisioner of police in thirunelveli. Then he imposes perfect law and order to the town and this enrages the city dadha or kingmaker, perumal pichai. There are various riots and plots to bring saamys actions to an end but he seems invinsible.meanwhile Saamy falls in love with a brahmin girl, Bhuvana, and they get married. In the climax Saamys father dies in a bomb blast. The movie is really on the fast track.
The movie is a Kavithalaya production. In todays politics where Police are known for their Bribery and misuse of law and order, this theme seems to be a morale booster to the people.Naan police illa ...porukki!! and Aarisaamy are very catchy lines in the movie. The dialogues are really very coolll! and appealing to the younger generation.
All the songs in the movie are hits especially the curtain raiser thirunelveli alva da..., Ayyaiyo pudichirukku....The music is fantastic and foot tapping. And not to forget the exquisite , cool visual effects...the movie has good visual effects, creative and in full throttle. The main cause for Saamys hit is Vikrams natural and rowdy kind of acting. His body language is simply superb.Trisha , though new to the field is very pleasant and cute in her character.Viveks comedy is also a plus point.Ramesh kanna is unique in his acting.
The climax could have been more thrilling than this. But the good effects overthrow the bad ones ..so This movie is worth watching and is truly invinsible
