First of all, I do not want to be too negative on my 100th review, but I do not like the young actor. He has tried be fun but he was not. So, it is a failure for Ranbir (Raj) who cannot even do some strip dancing properly.
According to Wiki and google, the film is funded by US company but so whats????? It is not even in the league of domestic film industry. This is the example of good background, effect and color and how everything is mixed up, but the actor and scriptwriter are just horrible.
The story is about the girl who was waiting for her lover at the bridge in the imaginary town where the moon never show up while the girl was still sad. The town look like Venice but the majority of the population is obviously Muslim. There is also a Bhudda sculpture near the canal. The girl was living with her grandma who is blind and they were chained to each other with the pin. She fell in love with Imaam, her tenant.
Everytime, the bell rings, she would forget everything and run to the bridge. Raj, a kids who rent the room from Lilypop is making a living by singing. Gulabji, his loyal fan always has a thoughtful saying even though she is a pros*itute. At some point, Gulabji disappeared which is the mistake as most of the time, the story is narrated by Gulabji that it is a town that lives in her dreams. So, what you see is free from truth.
As it is completely out of truth, the girl who is obviously Muslim can go out at night everyday when it is almost midnight, go into the guys bedroom and sleep there. Gulabji did not do that!!! even though she is a pros*itute. So, I do not think the girl is that naive. I have to say this because her terrestrial quest is somewhat physical. She wants to take the guy, get away from her grandma and make herself happy. The reference to Eid means the returning or the sacrifice. Structurally, Raj is just a helper, and the girls opponent is her own hesitation. In other words, Raj and Gulabji are both the givers.
Morever, they really have to be careful to name the mysterious Imaan cause Imaan means 5 Muslim Realities including Allah, The Hereafter, *Malaika, *The Divine Guidance and The Prophets
I like the ending where Gulabji saying something about true love and gods generosity. So, Love is to give not to take.
What they should have improved is the entertaining elements that everybody expected.
