The person I am referring to needs no introduction for he has gone very far from introduction to fame.Yes..Sachin, Mumbai Bradman, as he is often known.The whole country watched Sachin grow and the media keeps publishing his every move(like Truman in the movie THE TRUMAN SHOW).The reason for his uniqueness is that he is a man of calibre on and off the field.The Indian youth are devotees of this god of the english man’s game.
His glittering past:
Sachin made his debut in cricket in 1989.As a teen, he was not mature at the initial stage in his career.But soon he gained the trust of the Indian citizens.His remarkable 143 against Australia at Sharjah, 1998 was a highlight of his obvious talent.Sachin is also a good off spinner.Captaincy is not his cup of tea...but he has some laurels as a captain.Tension, pressure, non-stop cricket, overstain using a heavy bat were obvious when he suffered with backache during a match against Pakistan in Chennai.This also brought a small break in his cricket campaign.Politics also made its entry into cricket and then rose problems...Many things would have distracted his cricket focussed mind.The world cup 1999 was a big flop for India.After Saurav took captaincy, it strengthened the team which before leaned on the shoulder of one man.With the arrival of the new generation heroes..Sehwag, Dravid, Saurav, Yuvraj, Kaif etc the burden of this invincible batsman has reduced.The reconstructed Indian team is much more stronger than any other before and this was evident with India’s performance in World cup 2003.However strong the team is no one can deny Sachin adds glamour to Indian cricket and that he is The EVEREST OF DESI CRICKET.....
