This review is an unplanned one, I was reading reviews about Sachin Tendulkar and was very upset with some of the reviews.So I decided to write a review on him. Plz bear in mind like everybody I also have a right to express my opinion and feelings about him. Go ahead and read this review.
Sub: Review against people who allege that he is not a match winner and long innings player.
Sachin has stood for India on various occasions but on most of those occasions he has been the only man standing for India. I think Laxman and Dravid r lucky coz when they score centuries the whole team plays well. When dravid players well laxman also plays well but this can’t be said when Sachin plays well. When Dravid scores a century, Kumble and Harbhajan also bowl well but when Sachin scores a century the same thing cannot be said. Don?t worry I have not exaggerated or manufactured facts; I?ve proof for everything (newspaper articles and statistics). . Sachin is not able 2 win matches coz nobody supports him when he is on song. I can mention many instances, some r
(1) 2004, friendship series Against pak in Rawalpindi where he scored 141 runs (India were chasing 330 runs), he was the top scorer of the Indian innings by more than 100 runs, the second top scorer was Dravid wid 35-36 runs. He did everything he could, but he is also a human being yaar not a robot he tried 2 hit a six but got out caught near the boundary. What do u expect? He should score 200 runs every time goes out 2 bat?
(2) (2) ASIA cup final- had anybody supported sachin, India would have won the asia cup.His strike rate was 72(he scored 75 odd runs of 105 balls), but everybody blamed him for being too slow, they didn’t blame dravid who consumed 40-50 balls for his 15 odd runs or Yuvraj who was mesmerized by Muralitharan .
(3) Who can forget his 136 against Pakistan at Chennai where India lost by a whisker (16 runs). Last 4-5 batsmen could not even score 15 runs.
Indian media is also irresponsible. When Sachin was suffering from tennis elbow injury they had almost written him off. When Brian Lara scored 400 runs; The Times Of India compared Sachin with Lara in the front page. Is this the way to treat a person of the stature of Sachin Tendulkar.If any player does well Indian media (People who haven?t even held a cricket bat in their life) would start criticizing Sachin for not doing what the other player has done. In this sense every player should be criticized as nobody can do what Sachin has done.
Coming back to the marathon knock of Lara - he was very selfish as his 400 runs cost the West Indies team the match. They had already lost the series 3-0, they could have won the match had the captain (Lara) declared the innings earlier. Had Sachin been in the position of Lara, he would have declared the innings much earlier. Sachin has achieved literally everything but yet he is so down to earth, has anybody ever heard him making big statements or criticizing other players like Mathew Hayden does. Sachin is like a kohinoor diamond and every Indian should be proud of him.
