1 Yug..

This is the land that believes TIME to be the ultimate truth. The land where time is considered to cyclic and not linear . The land which has realised that time is the only constant truth. I am not here to debate on our ancient sages and their knowledge nor their divine-sight. But our ancestors had clear vision of the begin, sustain and end of the world.

How they devised the time system is based again on the vedic mathematics..

One day of Brahma is called a kalp.

In one kalp there are 14 divisions of time called manvantar. Each maha yug has four cycles that are called satyug, tretayug dwaparyug kaliyug.

This is the how time was or is measured..

Krati Krati = 34, 000th of a second

1 Truti = 300th of a second

2 Truti = 1 Luv

2 Luv = 1 Kshana

30 Kshana = 1 Vipal

60 Vipal = 1 Pal

60 Pal = 1 Ghadi (24 minutes)

2.5 Gadhi = 1 Hora (1 hour)

24 Hora = 1 Divas (1 day)

7 Divas = 1 saptaah (1 week)

4 Saptaah = 1 Maas (1 month)

2 Maas = 1 Rutu (1 season)

6 Rutu = 1 Varsh (1 year)

100 Varsh = 1 Shataabda (1 century)

10 Shataabda = 1 sahasraabda

432 Sahasraabda = 1 Yug DIVISION OF TIME-PERIOD (ERS) KAAL

SATYUG 4, 32, 000 YEARS X 4 = 17, 28, 000 YEARS

TRETA 4, 32, 000 YEARS X 3 = 12, 96, 000 YEARS

DWAPAR 4, 32, 000 YEARS X 2 = 8, 64, 000 YEARS

KALIYUG 4, 32, 000 YEARS X 1 = 4, 32, 000 YEARS

1 MAHAYUG (GRAND TOTAL OF ALL THE YUGAS) = 43, 20, 000 YEARS

71 MAHAYUG = 43, 20, 000X71 = 1 MANVANTAR

1 MANVANTAR = 30, 6720, 000 YEARS

14 MANVANTAR = 4, 29, 40, 80, 000 YEARS (There are 14 Manvantars)

According to the Indian calendar, the universe is going through Kali Yug at this time. The kaliyug started approx after 3500-5000 yrs from the time Lord Krishna left the earth.

The time left for the first Pralay (annihilation) is about two point three five billion years. This number is close to the number that corresponds to the expansion of Sun and the loss of solar light to a significant level based on modern theories of activity of Sun. It will cause major extinction of Earth and therefore life on Earth.

Indians say Kalki will mark the end to the yug and it will be the time for the divine great to begin the cosmic dance, wherein everything will be destroyed and all the energies which will be absorbed.
