Sadak stars= sanjay dutt, pooja bhatt, sadashiv amprapurkar, deepak tajori.
The movie is directed by maheshbhatt and the music is by nadeem sharavan. Sadak was a huge success back in 1991. Sadashiv amprapurkar got a villain award for the movie. The songs are considered one of the best albums in india.
-> Ravi (sanjaydutt) an educated guy is from brahmin family drives taxi all day and all nigh on the streets of mumbai. One day ravi meets pooja (pooja bhatt) and it’s love at first sight. BUt the encounter between both of them is to brief. Ravi is constantly haunted by his past memories they are driving him insane.
Friend and owner of restaurant salimbhai(avtargill) takes him to the hospital but refuses the shock treatment instead decides to leave cure in the hands of god. Gotya (deepaktajori) ravi’s best friend who is a matka den owner takes ravi to a red light area which gotya frequent to meet to fiance chanda (neelima) and there ravi see’s pooja again trying to escape from the brothel of maharani ( sadashiv amprapurkar) who is a eunuch.
-> Pooja becomes ravi’s obsession. Salim bhai also believes that pooja might be the cure for ravi’s illness. Ravi put’s his entire life’s savings at stake and sets out to free pooja from the brothel. He is able to buy pooja for one night from maharani and is allowed to take her out but gotya is kept hostage until Ravi brings pooja back.
-> Then ravi is forced to return pooja back to the brothel next day because he doesn;t want them to kill gotya. The second night when ravi comes alone in the brothel while gotya and chanda wait outside ravi comes to take pooja out for the second night, but maharani refuses because he thinks pooja and ravi are in love and they’ll run away.
-> Maharani says no to ravi and ravi stabs maharani with a knife and runs away with pooja, while gotya and chanda come with them. Gotya and chanda are killed by maharani’s men, but ravi and pooja escape. They are now running away to save their lives.
Sadak is movie worth a watch, one is for acting and the other reason is for the music. The songs are to good. My favorite one is paate tum hum tere bin kahin reh nahin nahin aate tu hum mar jaate. All the other songs are very nice also. Sadak’s storyline of the movie is copied from a hollywood movie called cyborg starring jean claude van damme.
Performancewise= sadashiv amprapurkar gives his best performance in sadak of all the hindi movies he done he outdid himself in this movie. No doubt he received a villain award for this movie.
-> The scene where sanjubaba stabs him and runs away with pooja bhatt is great scene when he says khoon ko behne do. Pooja bhatt is also great playing a innocent girl, probably one of her best performance in this movie after dil hai ke manta nahin. deepak tajori also does a nice job for the short role given. Avtar gill is great as always.
The whole movies belongs to sanjubaba, in this movie he’s not playing a gangster. He brings the kind of madness that’s usually missing in a actor. That’s why he’s my favorite actor of all time. There lot of great scenes in the movie done by sanjubaba.
-> The begining when his uncles taxi is robbed by some robbers. He goes and get’s it back. That scenes is great when he is fighting them. The end is worth a watch when he goes to save pooja bhatt from sadashiv. The talk with sanjubaba and maharani is worth listening. When he says aa maharani saale hijreee dar gaya. Then maharani calls one of his bodyguards aae hero is din ke liye tujhe pal pose ke bada kiya tha nikal bahar aur dikha apni taqat.
On the whole sadak is a movie worth a watch.
