Worse exp , choose another, avoid this Sagar Hosp

My exp with the hosp on 22nd may 2009 was worse. PRO Ms. Bindu was of no help. Even Meeting Mr. Dr. Reddy, MD was of not much reassuring. To ask his sub ordinate he needed us to write a complaint. Of course we did it. And they were not ready to accept it.:-) Finally at 1600 hrs they did. Me and my wife are in there for our 1st child and went there for the 21st week, Anomaly Scan as it is known among medical fraternity.


We had an 1100 hrs appointment, made a month ago(Apr 23 09). But we were told to wait for 5 mins and again 5 mins so on until 1220 hrs. In the scan room the paper tissues spread was not cleared from the previous patient’s. We had to ask and only when we grumble the nurses changed it. The Doc(Dr. Ram Kumar) came in and finished the scan in 11 mins flat, in that 11(12:23 to 12:34) min he was conversing with his junior staff about a 2 week old case of twins one of which had a post birth complications.


And this obviously gave us an impression ours too had a complications. He showed the head, spine legs and heart and he just took the print outs and walked out. No interaction not available or allowed us to ask a question. Very disappointing from his side. He took pride in telling he did 2 Anomaly scans in just 35 mins.


We wanted to have the scan reports and images on to CD, but we never got a chance to ask.we wanted to register our dissatisfaction and so were directed to P.R.O Ms. Bindu. She does not have the authority of even offering us an apology letter, forget rescan or refund.


When we brought up the above(Dr Ram’s issue) and asked her the standards of medicine for Anomaly scan, she went to Dr. Kiran HOD of radiology and got our reports.Which we never asked. How can the Dr. Kiran hand over our report to her? A breach of trust is shown. We had not authorized the PRO to get it.


Dr Mohan Reddy, Medical director gave an explanation that Dr. Ram was an expert and so he could finish in 11 mins flat, now I really am worried abt his expertise. MAY BE I need some expert advice here. Though he accepted and said it was wrong on the dr’s part to talk abt other case during our conversation.


We decided to ask for refund, PRO said we have to give the reports back. When we went back after lunch for the same, PRO said Dr. Reddy has denied the refund. When told she asked us the reports back for a refund and we did not want the report aswe were not satisfied, she just threw it on her table and said “ok don’t take it even then you are not getting a refund”.


We left it there and walked out to approach Medical director. All I could was file a written complaint and get an acknowledgment, from Dr. Mohan Reddy., Medical director.


I am consulting my Attorney at Law what steps we can take ahead. I would also like to approach the press and Consumer forum, and am looking on how to reach them.
