I have visited the vikas puri, paschim vihar and defence colony branches and am not surpised that the franchise-zation of this otherwise great restaurant has only contributed towards the downfall of its service-both of the flavor and cutomer satisfaction.
The vikas puri and paschim vihar branches look more like a mess hall at railway station with old, uninviting furniture but the one in defence colony (ofcourse the original posh one) is absolutely fantastic; the food is amazingly authentic and great but other branches are horrible and putrid. All items from dosas, idlis to the supplemental chutneys and pickle is finger licking good.
I love south indian food as it represents the complete opposite of gravy thick, sleep inducing punjabi food (i do love that too, but sometimes) and not only its nutritiously filled but also vegetarian which for a carnivorous being like me is refreshing sometimes. I especially recommend the palak masala dosa and the lemon rice with curd; rasam is absolutely as spicy and appetizing as expected; the chutneys are plentiful and in amazing varieties.
