My mother in law was visiting from down South and from the time she was home we could not really get around to making traditional South Indian items and it was apparent that she was missing them dearly.
We decided to take her to Sagar Ratna and went here one evening, only to find a lot of people waiting to get a place here.
We waited for 20 minutes and finally got a table to ourselves. We let mom decide for herself and called for some Chinese items for ourselves.
She called for a Rasam with Aplam, Plain Dosa and some curd on the side. While we tucked into our Fried Rice and Gobi Manchurian, which she tasted but did not enjoy a lot, her food arrived and after the first bite, there was this huge smile on her face which signalled that she loved the food!
She polished off everything within 20 mins and was licking her fingers by the end of the meal. I was happy to see that my mom in law was happy after this authentic South Indian meal and we headed home on a full stomach.
