Sahara for BeySahara?????

I don’t know why my review was not posted yesterday when my fury watching Sahara News Mumbai couldn’t stop my positive thinking mind into reacting and grabbing my keyboard to share what I had just observed.

Hopefully I will be lucky today. Let me put it in a very short and a straight manner.

My sympathies and condolences to all those who suffered the most during the Tuesdays Train blasts. The media reached where the police had not. They are the ones with Mobile technology and hence no strings attached. To what they say or what they project. No one has ever dragged the media to the court for showing or narrating something.

Be it a graphic, or a movie clip or even a piece of speech which may not be suitable or even socially acceptable.

Why is there so much of a greed to fill the citizen with so much of information when they themselves are not able to take care or even assist those in need.

I have not seen a camera man drop his camera and rush to help people carry bodies or injured to the hospitals.

May be they are just doing their job. Grabbing material for us people and making us jump in our seats. Isn’t it time to understand what we are doing? Letting the media make us so insensitive by showing images videos and repeatedly using this medium to only convey what they wish.

My attention is more focused on yesterdays interview by a staff reporter from Sahara News Mumbai who was outside Bhagwati hospital trying to ask some questions to a citizen who was searching for his father.

How insensitive can you get? The question went like this...."Do you think that your father is still alive?" I couldn’t believe what I had just heard.. Here is a media person out to just make this man loose hope of him finding his father alive.

Never does one stoop so low even when one is on deathbed. The doctor always lives and gives hope. This is a societal norm and even though how bad a situation may be .. how negative can you get.. One can always hope for the best and hope that people who are lost may be wounded and recovering somewhere.

I think the media reporters need to take a crash course in communication and empathy. Sahara can get plenty of such training online.

Communication is so much necessary during these times where the tone and the choice of words become very necessary.

Like our Home Minister Mr. Patil who needed a script to talk to the media?! Whoa! what a shame that a minister had to make someone prepare a speech during this occasion. May of us would not have even observed but look at the situation. You are required to speak from the heart and show your feeling and not read our a scripted message for the citizens... Damn!

I was only hoping that our intelligent PM would have not waited a day before making his speech to the public and that too was scripted. Statements from the heart don’t need scripts and are conveyed in a better form. They bring out the truth and the sincerity in which they are spoken.

How come the US (Secretary of State) Condoleezza Rice said she stood with India to fight terrorism didn’t require her to make a speech.

It doesn’t take much to communicate. its purely common sense but common sense is not common.

I want to take this opportunity to ask my fellow Mumbaikars to stop feeling very elated when the spirit of Mumbai is mentioned.

Understandably we do have a great fighting spirit which we have been carrying on since a long time, but It makes me feel so bad as if this statement has now become a cliché and I really would want to tell the government to stop using this because its not giving me an opportunity to fight back for what I give to the country.

Mumbai gives a whooping Rs 50, 000 crores every year as Tax payers collection to the Government’s Treasury. Not to hear these statements that we are bold and high spirited. Damn it!!   I want Justice done.

Stop calling Mumbai brave and make us get used to these things. We don’t deserve any of this nonsense . Any time. Not a single Mumbaikar should suffer with so much of work we do for India.

Give us our infrastructure, Give us our Value, Give us our space and security.

I often dream if Mumbai was to detach itself from the rest of India. Like Singapore is to Malaysia!!
