A disappointment

I recently ordered a samsung omnia W from Saholic.com. This phone has a high demand and resulting availability issues. However, the website reports no such problems and therefore the customer will falsely assume that the product is in stock.


I ordered the product in the night of 2nd July and was promised delivery by 6th of July 2012. Till 5th they had not updated their website with any new information, let alone the courier waybill number. In response to my questioning mail their response was that I should wait till the delivery date before contacting. This is ridiculous because the whole point of having a tracking ID is not to wait day and night and reschedule for the even more ridiculously awful courier service.


But this is not all... On 5th evening their representative called me up and announced to me that they couldn’t find the product in stock anywhere and therefore have canceled the order. Now it is frustrating enough that I chose to buy a product from them while ignoring competitors with similar pricing, and then knowing that they don’t have it in stock, but that is not the source of my frustration. Later on the representative announced that my money will be refunded in 20-25 days (upper limit, may refund earlier). This is an extremely unethical practice to woo the customers from the competitors and I won’t recommend them to anyone.


It is surprising that companies can practice such antics in today’s informed world and think about escaping with it. I am not angry that they didn’t have it in stock. My only problem is that they didn’t even care to inform me and as can be seen from the past reviews, several others. Unless they get more sincere with the customer, there is no point in buying from them, even if the product is dirt cheap.
