We bought a 1995 model Maruti Esteem from the ’’Quality Used Cars’’ division of Sai Service last year in June for 1.6 lakh ( obviously much more than the depreciated value). The amount we have had to spend on the car that does average running has been about half the amount we spent on buying it.
Later when we showed it to our car mechanic he recommended we return the car. However that was not to be. Gradually bits and bits have had to be replaced. They cannot do as much as put some decent tyres ( the tyres were bald), the wipers needed to be replaced, the coolant pipe was leaking, the wheel alignment was wrong and had to be rectified. Even the paint on the bonnet is actually chipped off & the car looks very bad now. Now we have been told that the engine needs to be over hauled. What QUALITY is that? That in 3-4 months to a year there is so much work & expenditure to be incurred?
