I have seen many hospitals so far for various reasons. I don’t want to name all of them, especially all the big brand hospitals we have in Bangalore.
I would give Sakra a rating of 4.5 but I do not see that option.:)
Somebody recommended me for Sakra World Hospitals, Bellandur, Bangalore & as it was a bit urgent for me to get my Fundoplication surgery done asap, I just went to see Dr. Sadiq Sikora. In the First meeting itself he sounded a lot more sensible as compared to the other’Big Brand" hospitals’ surgeons. I didn’t go for other hospitals just after talking to those big surgeons there. I felt quite comfortable while talking to Dr. Sadiq & decide to go with him.
Got my surgery done & before I give my Feedback/ Review, let me THANK Each & Every person interacted, worked with & worked on me.
Below is the quick review.
Pros:
Very hygienic, very carefully maintained rooms & IPD - OPD area. You can see the cleaning staff always on the diligent & serious cleaning work. My room was being cleaned at least 4 times a day, as a routine, never had to ask them for. Every staff member, irrespective of the role he/she is playing, was seen quite careful about the cleanliness.
Quite behaved nursing staff: I have seen many hospitals with many weird behavior pattern of the nursing staff & their pathetic rude language one could hardly understand. Here, on the day-one of my admission, one of the nurses spoke so very nicely, worked with care & explained the things to her best possible extent for any queries. We thought, she is a good staff, at the first interaction. Later, obviously, many personnel met us, worked for me or visited the room. Everyone was the same well behaved & well trained. Absolutely, professional & expert in their work.
The Doctors themselves: Right from the director of Gastro division Dr Sadiq sikora to each of the senior, junior doctors demonstrated their expertise. Very good Medical staff. Impressive. None of them seems to work only for Money or business. It’s clearly the betterment of the patients. Of course, we paid for that. But, the same was well justified.
Overall Hospital Management:
The coordination between various departments like clinical to surgical, testing to reporting, housekeeping to cafeteria. was excellent. We didn’t feel the lag or gap.(of course a few cases when the staff was bit occupied with some emergencies or the heavy customers’ inflow, at times, But we were intimated.)
Those who have gone for TPA-way for the payments, must be aware how complicated, time consuming & irritatingly follow up job it is.
In case of Sakra, it was just easy, simple & there is nothing you need to do. Doctor visited me in my room, declared the discharge by afternoon & within 3 hours my claim, payment & every other formality was completed & I was discharged. What all we had to do is to ask for the process & they said, "you just wait for our phone call, when we will call you for final payment." & that’s it. We just waited in our room & it was just done.
- Other Services like pantry, dietician, housekeeping and many other small & big departments were praiseworthy.
Main thing to express. Dr. Kishore is the lovable guy, I would say. You feel fresh when you speak to him even if you are very bad in mood or mental shape, I believe. He listens to you, responds to you & understands you so nice way, in a smiling mood & cheering face. I would suggest every new apprentice doctor should get Dr Kishore HSB as their mentor. I became Fan of him.
Cons:
1.Infrastructure Size:
Room size: Pathetically small rooms as compared to the other hospitals. It was just half or even smaller of any other hospitals I visited before and it was, actually, not adequate.
Lift, staircases: are the areas where the loads of people commute with. They are really very small & narrow for the such a big facility hospitals. Same case is for the cafeteria. Very small.
But, the services were no way compromised with the small size of facilities or amenities.
- Cost: This hospital is a bit expensive than a few other, but not than all others. The rooms’ rents per day are quite high. The overall package rates are quite high. Though the services are good, really good. the prices should be a bit lower.
Finally, the treatment for my health issues & the solution for the same seems to be working out well.
I feel much much better rather completely relieved of the issues for which I was wondering from hospitals to hospitals.
Overall, At least for GASTRO team, I would give it to SAKRA. I strongly recommend.
