I have read most of the reviews for this film, but I personally agree with the only member who gave this film a 5 star rating. In fact the factor which put off most of you here was the one thing which justified the film- the length. Successfully giving enough space and colorization to six seperate stories had to make this film as long as it was and probably more.
All stories were very good but Vidya takes the cake. In any case, theatres edited many scenes like the song Mera Dil mera. The ending was very mature and in a perfect setting. I felt the basic message was this: The Oh so Powerful Emotion of Love is so all encompassing that when circumstances are right we are engulfed by it’s sweetness but when things turn bad, that is when we learn to truly appreciate it and the value of it in our life.
Vidya’s accident catapaulted John into a desperate attempt to get her well and back into her life in actuality. When Esra’s boyfriend left her, that is when she realized that a trip accross the world and into an unknown country was no big deal. Salman’s faked death gifted Priyanka a wonderful career but robbed her of the only true happiness she had found for the first time in her highly chequered life.
Anil took Juhi for granted but her absence made him realize the futility of his pursuits. Akshay’s world of freedom and fun without commitments was shattered when it was Takia who rejected him with a well deserved slap. Every character tries to take remedial actions and in the process they show their versatility as actors.
I will definitely like to watch this film repeatedly for which I want to purchase it’s newly released DVD. This brings me to the topic at hand. Please suggest me as to where I might get the FULL length film with no cut off songs or scenes. In the Mid East most of Vidya’s scenes are edited which infuriates me as she is the film’s essence. I don’t might paying extra but I want to see the original film in FULL.
This film is very well done and it deserves more than these brickbats- a strictly personal opinion though.
