Salaam Namaste - smile all the way

Warm, very funny, ultra modern, light on your nerves…just some of the adjectives that come to mind while

describing Salaam Namaste.

The story is ahead of Indian times. Live in, pre - marital sex and in natural progression pre marital pregnancy all the

ingredients to make a “Julie” or a “Jism” but director Siddharth Anand’s handling is so classy and the story progression so

natural that the quintessence of the movie might not even shock our middle class mentality.

The star cast itself is such a well chosen one (be it bit roles handled excellently by Javed Jaffery , the ubiquitous sidekick

Arshad Warsi, or the cameo by Abhishek Bachchan) that even a weak story line (which is not the case here) would have survived.

The lead pair is very well suited and Saif Ali Khan proves once again that he has a penchant for comedy.

Preity Zinta enjoys herself thoroughly in this one.

The story telling is brisk, the scenes of Australia breathtaking and the music very good.

All in all a must see at least once.

But the question remains… can the Indian audience appreciate it?
