A let down..

Alright...a lot has already been said about it so telling you the story would one more tome would be pointless. So here’s what came to my mind while watching the movie...

  1. The movie is a complete copy of Nine Months starrig Hugh Grant.

  2. Under the guise of ’’progressive thinking kinda movie’’ they have copied a western theme and have shot it with an Indian star cast.

  3. The sudden decision to move in together in house and the whole live-in relationship thing seems to have been ’’pushed’’ into the script to justify Preity’s pregnancy and move the story forward. Cos Preity seems forward thinking at times and then suddenly seems to be very orthodox in her thinking at times.....which shown the weakness in the script.

4.The song ’’Paune baara bajey..’’is one more such song that seeems to have been forced in.....Just a few minutes before the song Preity and Saif seem to be pissed with each other and then suddenly he tales her out for ice cream.....Pleaaase.....gimme a break.

5.And one MAJOR weakness is the fact that when Preity decides to have the baby and Saif wants otherwise, she suddenly turns into this screaming , irritating woman....What the hell is that all about ? The whole point of a progressive thinking generation is to be independent and repsonsible for yourself...and here she is trying something as progressive as a live-in relationship but the moment the things are not going HER way, she turns into this nutcase....

6.They seem to be living into this HUGE house ON RENT with their hard earned cash just after meeting each other twice....No this is NOT hip or progressive by any means but dumb.

7.Preity asks Saif to do a blood test when she is a month away from delievering the babies...My question is ...what difference would it make ? Cos even if something WERE wrong with his blood , there’s nothing she can do cos its too freaking late!!!

8.The guy who has been living his own way for these many years and does not want to settle down and marry suddenly has paternal feelings because one of his cooks tells him how good he feels when his kid holds his hadn!! Oh please....Can anyone change so suddenly....I think NOT !

9.The movie seems to show how Saif is wrong in his thinking of not accepting the responsibility and then how he does , in the end...which is b.s. Think about it...This guy didint walk out on Preity becuase she was pregnant but admitted to being in love with her and just didnt want the baby..How is it wrong ??? I dont get it...

10.Abhishek Bacchan’s appearance was uncalled for and is very irritating. If you have watched Nine months....you can remember that this small bit was plyed by Robin Williams who did a great job!

Anyway..enough of slamming the movie....Here’s some good points...

  1. Saif....looks good, acts well and has his own style and is definnitely the reason why you wont be bored watching the movie.

2.Arshad Warsi....This is guy is so talented..I dont understand why he doesnt get better roles than a friggin’ supporting actor. His last movie Sehar was really good.

3.Javed Jaffrey...Another talented guy....If you havent caught it already...he has mimicked Feroze Khan....and he is really really funny..with his broken English....

4.The songs by Vishal Shekhar are really good....

5.The movie is well shot and the locales of Australia are breathtaking....

On the whole its a movie you have to watch cos all your friends have watched it or will watch it and talk about it. You cannot stop comparing the movie to Dil Chahta Hai and that makes it even worse. Preity gave a really controlled performance in DCH and the climax was amazing as well...Here she is over the top in the second half and the climax does more damage to an already flailing script.

Thats my two cents.....
