Fresh,young and energetic!!!

Yash Raj Films is back with another exciting movie after giving hits, one after the other in the form of ”Hum Tum”, ”Dhoom”, ”Veer-Zaara” and ”Bunty aur Babli. The latest offering from the biggest production house of India is ”Salaam Namaste”.This film has everything that is required to make a hit film.First of all, of course, it comes from the Yash Raj films banner-the name of a production house which needs no sort of introduction as everyone is already familiar with this banner.Other than that, this film also stars Saif Ali Khan, who has become one of the most happening and highest paid actors of Bollywood. The actor is definitely riding high on success after hits such as ”Dil Chahta Hai”, ”Kal Ho Naa Ho”, ”Hum Tum” (which was the first hit film of Saif Ali Khan as a solo hero) and then the recently released ”Parineeta”.So, audiences will definitely be attracted to the cinema halls screening this film, because Saif is very much in demand.Last but not the least, the film also stars Preity Zinta, another actress whose very much in demand. She has also given hits, one after the other, in the form of ”Koi Mil Gaya”, ”Kal Ho Naa Ho” and ”Veer-Zaara”.The actress is back on the silver screen, after about a year but she looks cute and gorgeous, as ever.So does the film lives upto the sky high expectations?

Yash Raj Films. ”Salaam Namaste”, directed by Siddharth Anand, stars Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jafferi, Jugal Hansraj, Tania Zaetta and Abhishek Bachchan (special appearance). This film marks the debut of Siddharth Anand, as a director, who was previously an assistant of Kunal Kohli.Yash Raj Films has given chances to many new directors who are now considered to be the best directors of Bollywood.Yash raj Films gave chances to Kunal Kohli (“Mujhse Dosti Karoge” and “Hum Tum”), Sanjay Gadhvi (“Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai” and “Dhoom”) and Shaad Ali Saigal (“Saathiya” and “Bunty Aur Babli”), to direct films and all of them are very successful film directors, today. So, will Siddharth Anand also emerge as a good and successful director like the one, listed above?

”Salaam Namaste”, is the first Bollywood film that is based on a live-in relationship.Ambar Malhotra (Preity Zinta), is a very young and energetic kind of a girl. She is a typical girl next door kind of a person.Ambar had left India and had ran away to Australia because her parents did not agree with her on anything and they wanted her to get married and live like a typical Indian woman and a housewife.Ambar who is very young not only to look at, but also at heart, has some other plans in life, She likes to live life freely so now, she has escaped to Melbourne, Australia.Currently, she works as a RJ (Radio Jockey) in Australia, for the radio station called ’Salaam Namaste’.On this radio station, Ambar interviews all the Indians living in Australia. While searching for some Indians to interview them, she comes across a young Indian guy, living in Melbourne, whose name is Nikhil Arora a.ka. Nick (Saif Ali Khan).Nick works in Melbourne as a chef, as he is very good at cooking and he gets decent salary for this job, too.Ambar asks Nick to come to her radio station, the next day for an interview and Nick agrees to it. The next day Ambar waits for Nick to come, but finally, he doesn`t turn up, because of his wrong sleeping habits.Nick is a lazy bird, who likes to sleep at late nights and wake up late, unlike the very punctual Ambar. This carelessness of Nick annoys Ambar a lot and so a small argument takes place between them.As destiny has something more in store, for both of them, the two happen to meet each other again, at a wedding party. Both of them, start to understand each other better, despite having so many differences.Ambar feels that Nick needs to be more punctual and alert in life, so to teach this thing to Nick, she finds more excuses to meet him. Some few meetings make them realize that there is some kind of attraction between the two. After sometime, Nick asks Ambar to share an apartment with him, though they will sleep in different rooms, so that they could understand each other, better.A bit surprised Ambar agrees to this offer of Nick and the two start living together but it doesn`t take them so long to shift to the same room. Both of them become a couple and now they start sharing the same room and the same bed. After some months of fun with each other and fun with friends (Arshad Warsi and Jugal Hansraj), something happens that creates some difficulties and problems for both Nick and Ambar.Ambar gets pregnant with Nick`s child in her womb.Nick, who is in no state of taking responsibility of being a husband and a father asks Ambar to abort the child, but Ambar decides that she will go on with giving birth tho the child.Due to the differences in their decisions, both of them realize that life is not all about having fun and love is not all about romancing with each other but there are also some difficulties which come in everyone`s ways.

Saif Ali Khan manages to give a brilliant performance once again. After a national award winning performance in ”Hum Tum”, the actor is surely going to make his way into the hearts of millions of more people through his performance in ”Salaam Namaste”.Yes! We have seen this type of lazy, flirtitous, cool and carefree Saif in many films, such as ”Dil Chahta Hai”, ”Kal Ho Naa Ho” and ”Hum Tum”, earlier as well still this performance of his looks very fresh and entertaining. His comic timing is perfect and even otherwise in the second half, where there is some seriousness to his character, the actor excels.

Preity Zinta makes a comeback after a long time and a long wait but the wait was worth it.The actress looks fresh and cute as ever. Her fans are definitely going to adore her in this movie. She has given a lovely performanc as Ambar.Though, her role definitely reminds you of the role she earlier played in ”Kya Kehna” (that of an unmarried pregnant girl), still this performance of hers doesn`t look monotonous at all.Her performance will surely play a large part in the success of this film.

Javed Jafferi in the role of a landlord, shines throughout the film and his comic timing is also brilliant. He has handled the comic role, quite well.We saw him for the last time in the awful film ”Boom”, but since then, he has improved a lot.Arshad Warsi also manages to give a fantastic performance as Nick`s friend and even he is hilarious.Jugal Hansraj has made a comeback after a very, very long time.He was last time seen in Yash Chopra`s ”Mohabbatein” and he also appeared in a Rajshri Productions` (flop) film, after that but then we never got to know about his whereabouts. In this film, he has given a decent performance.
