So I did check out the film today...first day, second show....and overall, I felt it was quite a good film, and did live upto the hype coz it didnt drag(a lot) and it had a feel-good factor attached to it with slick camerawork and two leading stars who look like a million bucks and share awesome on-screen chemistry. The topic of the film is very modern, and quite well dealt with. All the couples and mausis and whos who seemed to be very happy with the cash they had spent watching the film...so in my opinion, even I enjoyed it quite a lot and so Id have to say this is a pretty good entertainer, and a must watch for Preity fans...coz man she looks hhhhooooooooooooottt !! Ill see the film once again just for her... :)

So who do Saif and Preity play and how are their characters....
The film is set in Melbourne, Australia...
Saif is an architect by education but a chef at heart. His character, Nikhil Arora, or Nick, as he likes to call himself is a very easy going person who wakes up late every day and is always late to work. He is always bothered that his drawing room stays clean and so on and dirtiness freaks him out. He also has this idea that one should not marry but rather stay together if need be, coz then anytime the male and his female partner have a tiff, they can just say Its Over and move on...
Preitys character is called Amber...shes in Australia to complete her degree in medicine, and has a pal in Jugal Hansraj. She also works as a radio jockey at an Indian radio station called Salaam Namaste, 101.5 FM, and hence we know why the film is called so. It is actually relevant to the story, as it is through the radio station that the two meet, and has further importance as the story progresses. Shes a bit hot-tempered but a very sweet, hard working girl at heart. However, shes completely opposite to that of Nick with regards to daily matters such as her eating habits, her cleanliness or her general taste in things.
Brief Intro as to what happens in the film....
Nick was an invitee to Ambers radio station for an interview with her and he misses her show because...well hes a late riser...This gets Amber mad at him and she starts defaming him on her station so that Nick, in turn gets mad at her. Meanwhile, the two unknowingly meet each other at a wedding ceremony where they start liking each other after a few dances before they realize that they are actually supposed to be at daggers drawn...But of course things take a course for the better as both sacrifice their ego to move on with their lives(together), and all seems well...
Salaam Namaste as we heard was about two people living together to get to know each other better before marrying....and that is what the two decide to do....well it was initially saif(or nicks) idea but Amber accepts the idea as she realizes that theres more to their relationship than just friendship. So for three months, they have the best time of their lives, each sacrificing a bit every other day to make each other happy and getting to know about each others quirks and general habits....Things seem to go smoothly until one fine morning, Amber discovers that she is pregnant...(I might have mentioned that they were sleeping together as well...)..
Watch the film to see what complications arise....its worth the bucks...

My Very Own Opinions...
Watch the film because it has very few boring moments, that too late in the second half. Overall, it is a pure entertainer with equivalent doses of fantastic humour played by the funny Jaaved Jafri. The chemistry between the pair is fantastic, and I shall reiterate yet again....guys, watch the film if only to gorge your eyes on Preity(she looks old in a few scenes...but forget that...)...and gals...feast your eyes on a hunky, chiselled Saif whos attire in the film is amazing. For the hot-scene fanatics, you get a couple of saif-preity smooches.
As for the rest of the cast, you get Arshad Warsi as Saifs best pal whos become a typical wife-dominated guy after he marries Tania Zaetta(remember Who Dares Wins??)...Jugal Hansraj has a very small role, Jaaved Jafri rocks in his short comic role and ABs baby has a negligible comic role where hes good, but overdoes it a bit.
The lead pair are the USP of the film as well as the slick camerawork and graphic story-telling mode...its very similar(in feel) to Kal Ho Naa Ho...as in youll recognize the Yash Raj Films handiwork in every scene. And to top it all, the film is believable if you minus the usual Bollywood gimmicks that have been added on to spice up the film.

Saif as Nick is very good. He has matured as an actor over the last few years and he delivers one of his better, sensitive performances in this one. This is the type of film that he is very good at - where he gets to play the cool guy with a few drawbacks in his character. You will love him and hate him in the film, but finally hes a real good guy in the film who just believes in having fun and shirking responsibilities. And he is amazing in the comic scenes as well as the emotional scenes.
Preity as Amber is fantastic as well. Shes very vivacious and hot-headed and her performance is very believable. She handles the emotional scenes well, but that is just staple acting for any actor nowadays. What is great about her is that she has amazing screen presence in the film and lifts the film quite a bit, and even approaching thirty(or maybe she is thirty??)....she looks amazing on screen.
The relationship between the couple while they live together is given ample screen time and their tiffs and cozy moments together, and their fights are very well portrayed....a good insight into the many problems such couples who live together face...but actually the film is a romantic love story about two strong-minded people who come out as better, mature persons at the end of the film.
