I have visited Hyderabad during the time my younger brother was posted there in Punjab National Bank as a manager. I have seen the entire city during the stay there. Several places I had seen there but when I saw the Salarjung museum it was really fascinating me as it has very big built up area and there were good collection of antique items and other memorable things. I was greatly surprised by its musical clock which was kept in the middle of the museum.
This musical clock was one of the biggest attractions of the museum. There was sitting arrangement in baramda(corridor) around the clock. This Clock of the Museum is said to have manufactured in England and assembled in Calcutta in the late 19th century. It was acquired by Salar Jung III. It contains a mechanism by which a small toy figure of a bearded man comes out from the enclosure three minutes before every hour and exactly at 60th minute strikes the gong as per time(eg. three times at 3 o clock) and then goes back inside. The seen of gathering of people at time of striking at hour bell was really awesome. If you have chance to visit Hydrabad, Salarjung Museum must be visited.
