I had purchased a samsonite stroller from TGIP, Noida from Samsonite own outlet on 11th feb 2011 with a lifetime service warranty. Since setting up the combination lock is bit tedious I asked them to set it at 123. I had to go to Malaysia for a weeks official trip. every part of the suitcase was working fine, I had almost locked and unlocked my suitcase 6 times.
There on the 3nd day, the lock got jammed and didnot open. I had to take assistant from hotel staff who could only break open the slider. On my return flight I had to pay 8 MYR to airport authority to seal my luggage. Immediately on return I took my suitcase to samsonites outlet for a slider replacement. There what they billed me was 250/- for slider.
I showed them my warranty card and told my entire situation of the faulty lock. They told me, in that case I should hav brought back the suitcase in the locked condition. How ridiculous tha a person will have to spend a official trip with clothes and essentials all locked!!!!!!!!!! Its a shameful experience with samsonite, being a big brand, selling of suitcases worth 10000/- n they behave in such a ridiculous manner with customers in replacing a zips slider or a chinese make lock. this warranty was just a eyewasher for such a brands sick policies.
