I had purchased on 26" LCD TV(SAMSUNG - LA26R) in April08. After 2.5 years the TV gave up. The display is not working though the sound system is working. After a visit of the service person, I came to know the repair cost is going to be 13K rupees. As a part called panel is damaged, with no apparent reason. Looking at a premium product like this, its very unfortunate to get a repair call so early, that too when the cost of the repair is 40% of the purchase price. Now the call is after such a disaster how can consumer believe in these brands?
Every year there are so many models launched with a lot of advanced features. We moved from the traditional CRT monitor to flat screen - Plasma - LCD - LED and then 3D, in around 5 years. May be thats the reason, the product engineers did not get enough time to do proper R & D, as they had to compete with their peers in market. But who suffers at the end? The consumer of course. With the cheap quality and short life span of a product.
Then only one question I have, "what should I purchase next?"

After prolonged effort, finally I got response from Samsung customer care. But it was really a funny situation, when they said, they want to close the ticket ASAP, raised by me, but they can’t even repair that LCD, as they could not procure that part. I guess they stop producing the parts once the models are out of sale. It is really a matter of great concern.
So they suggested that, the only option available with them is to buy back that LCD, considering depreciation and other things. Well, I had sent all the documents that were asked, and still I have no answer. Will keep posted as things progress …
