Harassing senior citizens with delaying tactis

A letter from my father, emailed to Samsung more than 12 hrs ago, no response from them. It is regrettable that Samsung should harass a couple who are both senior citizens, in this manner. The names from the original email have been deleted.


I had called the complaint centre yesterday(at~ 1725hrs) more than 24hrs ago and spoke to -, he was helpful and assured me that some senior would get in touch with me, in one hour. But obviously they are too busy to attend to our problem, I had asked him if I need to take up the matter with some consumer forum, but he said that it would be addressed.


Dear Sir, I had purchased a Samsung TV, LED TVs 40J5100 from “Girias” in 2Nd  block HRBR Layout, Bangalore 43, in Aug 16.


I have had minor problems with the set from the start, my wife first called the complaint center in Nov 2016, but unfortunately did not ask for a complaint number and so though it shows on your system we do not have a complaint number. Now for the last 3 months or so the problems have worsened and become quite severe. My son had logged a complaint on Jul with the above mentioned complaint number.


We have had the following main problems;


1.On putting on the TV, many times, the screen gets suffused with a purple colour. Then the programme also shows against that colour. We then have to put off the TV and put it on again, for the normal colour to return.


2.Quite often the sound system goes off while the TV is on and we are watching a programme, for no apparent reason. Again we have to put off the TV for a while and put it on. At times this has to b repeated even twice.


3.A small white dot(LED dot) appears on the middle of the screen.We have been calling the local office to which we were directed.


, ie. Samsung services at 080-42154351. Subsequently “Technicians” and “Sr Technicians “ have tried to repair the set.


The screen was changed and the LED dot disappeared. However the other two major problems have remained. One technician changed the “Mother Board” but with no benefit.  Recently one - came and changed an L shaped, blue coloured wire connection. On putting on the set the entire screen was purple in colour again. He said that it was “Factory Setting”!


My wife and I have been speaking to the office so often. We have interacted with the multiple people:

All this has been of no avail. Persons named above have come and gone but the TV has remained the same. We hear that the head of the office is one -. He has not bothered to speak to us and the office will not give his number!


I served in the Indian Army for 35 years.


I have rarely encountered such callousness, inefficiency and indifference with other firms and service providers either in the public or private sector.


I hope you will be able to do something and make our Samsung TV work well. I am now 78 yrs old, and when I got your TV set last year, I was hoping for a few years of trouble free service. I hope I was not wrong.


Please do something effective.
