I bought this model in May 2008. Delhi summers are too hot to handle. Got this for around 18k(AC+Stablizer). It worked well in the first year - the cooling was effective(8/10). However the next season the cooling was horrible. The temperature inside the room with AC on for hours was just normal. It didn’t feel like an AC was running in the room.
I complained to the customer care. They sent a guy next day. He actually argued for half an hour that my AC was indeed working fine. He gave stupid reasons like there are many openings in my room(there was hardly any), there is too much woodwork in the room(Wonder how that effects the cooling!), the summer this time is too hot. He even gave some statements like it doesn’t matter if I put the AC at 18degree setting of 26degree setting! I haven’t seen such a lame guy in my life. He finally didn’t agree to take the AC for repairs.
I complained to the customer care again. I asked them specifically not to send the same guy again. They send 2 guys who took the AC to their repair centre the next day. They bought the AC next day and said that the gas had leaked and they have refilled it.
Now I am not sure whether they actually refilled it or not but the cooling now is extremely pathetic.
Bad product and Bad customer service. I would not recommend Samsung ACs to anyone. I just bought this one without thinking as one of my friends had bought this one few days ago, and the cooling seemed effective at that time. I was so tired of the heat that I bought the first one that came across to my mind.
