I had a problem with my microwave oven. The unit was not powering on. I registered a complaint with the samsung call centre on the 2nd of December 2008. The call centre directed me to the service centre and assured me that someone would attend withing 48 hours.
But that somone never came.for nearly a month. Some one attended the problem in the 2nd week of January. Till that time I have called them a number of times. They keep telling me that someone will attend. When I call the service centre they tell me I have to bring the unit to their service centre.
And the person who did attend the problem.ultimately.to my utter shock told me that I need to bring the unit to their service centre, since they need to change the PCB of the front panel. Cant they change the PCB here itself. "NO" was the answer.
The service centre in question is the one in Annanagar East, Chennai opposite K4 police station. And when I visited the service centre, I had the shock of my life. I have never seen such rude and inefficient people anywhere.
Almost all the customers who were there were fighting with the executives. Either their product was not ready on the promised date or they were not prepared to even promise a date of delivery. One person had given a mobile phone with a problem and after nearly half an hour of waiting, he was told that a spare part was not available and that he was to come after 10 days.
I had high regards about Samsung service. I also own a samsung refrigerator. A few years back I had a problem and it was promptly attended. But not now. I have to say that I wouldnt buy another samsung product if this is the service I am going to get. Do they do any surprise checks with these service centres at all. This service centre at Annanagar East is the worst I have come across.Samsung products would loose its credibility if such service centres continue to function.
