The reason for me to buy a Samsung drive was that it came with a proper set of IDE cables etc. But as soon as I purchased all of whom I know are computer users warned me against SAMSUNG drives. and my worst fear was soon realised. My drive also started giving sticky problems.
Now I have to have a pin ready ith me if I have to open the CD tray.
in adddition to this there is also a problem of not recognising a disk which was written over by Other drive(Samsung or other)/ PC. It does not recognise the earlier data written but lets you write over the balance space, and sometimes it refuses to write to it all togather.
One more problem is when you write over it in different sessions, it sometimes would show the data written in the privious session and not the current one. In other drive(s), it may show the newly written data, and hide the previous one. and in some drives it simply may not recognise the disk.
I think LG or Sony are better options whe you look for a CD/DVD Drive/writer.
