Review on Samsung Corby Plus

I was a Nokia user and was using the Nokia 6330 mobile. Since the mobile fell in water and started giving problems, I bought the Samsung Corby Plus 10 days back in Chennai for Rs. 7000/- Initially the model looked very attractive for the price. After started using the phone, I observed following problems:

  1. Insensitive to touch for certain functions like call record, widgets etc.

  2. Call record does not work properly. To activate the call record, it takes almost 5 minutes.

  3. QWERTY keyboard is little difficult to operate due to the key size.

  4. Numeric keys are difficult to operate. We need to depend on the touch key pad.

  5. Widgets are not sensitive to the touch. It is easy to go to the menu and access the functions than using the widgets.

  6. I am not able to set the ringtone for the SMS( is this feature available in the mobile?)

  7. Like in Nokia, there is no provision to use multiple applications at the same time.

  8. There are two separate functions to access the read message and write message.

  9. The OS is Java and the applications to be installed has to be Java compliant only.

10 There is no separate jacks for head phone and charger.( One more jack is available for headphone to hear music, but the jack is missing).

  1. The jack is a multi pin type and little difficult to plug in and requires little practice.

  2. Little bit slow if you use touch feature.

  3. Does not support 3G14. Navigations are not so friendly as in NokiaIt could be better to wait for Nokia C3 than to buy this phone.
