It’s been close to two months since I have been using this beautiful phablet. Its glass-metal sandwich structure is marvelous. The phone has a pretty good build quality as a result. SAMSUNG has listed this phone among the ones eligible to get the Android Nougat 7.0 update ( in a few more weeks) .
Following is my experience of using the phone: -
1.) The phone is among the very few which support SAMSUNG Pay. And mind you SAMSUNG Pay is an incredible product!
2.) The phone, due to its glass back panel, slips a lot on less frictional surfaces such a laminated plywood, glass, tiles, paper, etc. It even slips from the hand very easily. Hence, a protective casing is a must for this phone.
3.) Its FHD 6 sAMOLED display is flawless. Love watching HD and 4K videos on it.
4.) Its primary camera is quite good in terms of picture quality but the selfie camera is average and laggy.
5.) The 5000 mAh battery is really HUGE and gives great backup, no doubt!
6.) 32GB ROM is quite enough for me. I have not bought a MicroSD card yet and still around 11GB storage is left.
7.) The best feature, according to me, the phone has is the provision for separate MicroSD card and Dual SIM slots i.e. it does not have the so-called hybrid SIM slot. Which means you can have two SIM cards and a MicroSD card simultaneously.
8.) The phone has never felt to be laggy even once given its adequate amount of RAM and a very good processor.
9.) Fast charging is remarkable. My phone charges up from around 10% to 90% in less than 100 minutes. The phone does heat up significantly while plugged-in.
10.) The phone doesn’t feel too heavy as you get used to it gradually. The weight is due to the large battery and metallic frame.
11.) So far, the absence of a gyroscope sensor has not bothered? me at all. ( It might bother you if you are a big VR fan)
12.) It has very limited support in terms of accessories. You’ll have a very hard time finding a good quality protective case for the phone online or offline. Even SAMSUNG has not provided any accessories for the phone in India. Their Malaysian counterpart has even provided the ClearView flipcover to their customers.
Overall the phone is great in terms of features and design. It would have been much more popular had SAMSUNG promoted it well like it promotes the C9/C7 Pro. I have not yet found a good quality protective cover for my phone, unfortunately. Even the SAMSUNG Smart Cafe stores don’t offer anything beyond a bland back cover. I hope this helps : )
