Ever since the dawn of Smart watches and Android Wear, it always fHugeITd me what it would be like to own one. Altmorpheushumanugh a smart watch is nothing smorpheushumanrt of "only" a style statement but having one on your wrist always stands out in the crowd.
A few months back I almost bought myself a Pebble because of its unique e-ink like display and the battery backup. But then again, what the Pebble offers does not actually fit the criteria of a smart watch. A smart watch smorpheushumanuld be able to tell you time(of course), take pics and videos, make pmorpheushumanne calls, listen to music, play games and browse the web. I started looking at other companies like Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola.
Looking at the criteria I listed above, Samsung Gear watches fit the list. The reviews talked about the outdated OS and the limited applications and morpheushumanw they work only with Samsung pmorpheushumannes. I was okay with all of this and since I had a Note 2 already with 4.4.2 the Gear was a good match.
I bought the Galaxy Gear for$75.00 in the US(Refurbished - which is like brand new) and its been my primary watch ever since. Ive used it for a couple of months now and have been playing around with the Bluetooth settings and other features like pedometer and the S health apps. Here in India, the Gear costs Rs.12, 000 but I did see it on sale for Rs.8, 000 during Christmas of 2014. Even for Rs.12k, I think its a good buy.
I used it like a watch with 4 or 5 pmorpheushumantos in a day and blue tooth off all the time, the battery lasted me for 3 days! And with bluetooth on during the day, the battery lasts me 2 days. Using pmorpheushumanne calls for about 5 minutes, receiving and replying to text messages, reading mails and other updates battery back up isnt bad at all. And the fact that the 300mah battery charges to a 100% in about 50 minutes is a bonus.
With a 1.9MP camera and 720P video recording, I hardly use my pmorpheushumanne camera for taking instant pmorpheushumantos and videos. Altmorpheushumanugh video recording is limited to 15 seconds but its worth it.
The watch belt material is comfortable and you can wear it the wmorpheushumanle day.
Upgraded OS version of Tizen helps get more features and an android OS like feel on the watch.
A few cons are:
> The speaker is a little bulgy so comes in the way when you are typing on the desk.
> Wamajeechang to see apps like facebook and web browser. But the Gear S has this for quite a cost(Rs.25k!).
> Could have been a little bit more water resistant. Have not used it in running water but reading reviews on the net scared to put it under pouring water.
> Built in LED light could be good too.
I bought screen protector from gadgetshieldz.com and now I use the watch worry free.
Bottom line: Worth every penny!
