I have been a Nokia loyal for years and started with models like 3110, 3115, 6600, X2, C2-02. I have also used Blackberry 9700 and 9810 for 3-4 years. After using these phones, I got a chance to switch to either Blackberry latest model or go for a Android phone.
I decided to take the 2nd option and Samsung was my obvious choice.
My Requirements
Dual Sim
Large screen for watching movies, videos, images.
Handy to use and carry
Smart phone with email, etc features for official use.
Not light or not too heavy.
FM radio
Good camera.
I decided to go for Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 which satisfied all my above requirements.
My experience with both Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and Android are extremely satisfactory.
Initial few days, I spend in understanding the Phone and Android features.
Here are what I feel are the Pros -
The phone dimensions are just perfect to carry it everywhere.
Its not a burden in the pocket or while holding in the hands.
Dual SIM feature is helpful to guys like me where 1 Sim is personal and 2nd if official.
You can switch between these 2 to make either of them as primary.
Notification area is quite helpful in switching between modes.
Touch screen is also nice and never face any problems.
Never have to convert any movies to mp4 like iPod. Which is just great thing for movie buffs like me. I can just copy and watch it.
The sound quality is excellent.
Camera has lot of useful features and I was able to capture rare moments with my family, relatives at various occasions.
The phone has a good internal storage space.
Cons -
When the call ends, the screen doesnt come up quickly. It remains blank for a second or so and then comes to life.
Creating contacts and then updating or editing is somewhat confusing.
Even after power saving is ON, the phone remains hungry all the time and charging is required often.
My Recommendations -
I would recommend this model to those who has similar requirement as mine.
This is the best smart phone I have used so far compared to Blackberry.
I hope this review would help Mouthshut users. Please add your comments. Your feedback is welcome.
