I was very delighted to have this as my first android smartphone. But very soon this delight turned into despair. The smartphone had 1GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory.
Even after downloading a couple of apps like whatsapp, facebook etc, it use to hang a lot. I was unable to download more apps fearing that phone will have performance issues. Every 2-3 months I use to factory reset my mobile and then it use to run smoothly for a couple of months.
Apart from this I use to manually clear cache of each app from application manager to keep it running without any issue. Sometimes the phone use to hang to such an extent that I could not even pick the incoming call even when I am not using any app or doing any multi tasking.
I had tempered glass protection from day 1. It use to add to frustration when I saw cheaper mobiles like Micromax Canvas 2 running smoothly and giving better performance than my mobile. I did not understand what is the use of calling this phone a smartphone when it is not smart. The phone costed 19k which according to me was huge amount for this smartphone.
These days everybody says that Samsung phones hang and it’s true. Samsung launches devices ranging upto 60 K indian rupees which plummet to 1/3 of the price at which they are launched in a year and half. I think if Samsung wants to survive and retain its market share it should concentrate more on quality than quantity. These days days they launch multiple handsets in the same segment and its hard for consumers to choose and it’s harder for the company as well to take care of their existing customers be it after sales or android upgrades. I will not recommend Samsung to anyone. Go for Moto, Lenovo, Nexus or Micromax or even Intex.
