The galaxy j2 2016 is an upgrade to the previous j2 and is one of the latest budget smartphone.
Design - the phone design very much different from the previous version and comes with a new feature called smart glow which is a notification light as a thick bar around the rear camera. By just looking at the design it feels boring and feels cheap in hand.
Camera - the camera is as disappointment as other budget smartphones from samsung. In day light shots, the camera struggle to capture details and the low light performance is pretty bad and disappointing.
Performance - the performance of the j2 is sluggish and is strictly not for gaming. What I can conclude is that the performance is truly a disappointment.
Display - the only thing which is positive is the display. J2 has a samoled 720p display which is pretty good and offers good colors and viewing angles but has no gorilla glass on top of it which means that it is very much delicate and can crack with a slight drop.
Software - the j2 comes with android marshmallow with S bike mode, turbo speed technology, smart glow which are Samsung smartphone exclusive features. The turbo speed technology is a true gimmick and only make inbuilt apps to load fast. Other apps won’t be optimized by turbo speed technology so don’t expect any good performance. Smart glow is a notification light feature which is present around the rear camera.
Ok. Samsung is truly careless in providing future android versions so don’t expect it either.
Conclusion - if you are a Samsung fan then we can’t stop you but those who want a good smartphone, for God’s sake leave this and every budget Samsung smartphones. You can go for redmi note 3 or le 2 which are best smartphones in this price range
