Recently I bought this phone for my mom.Overall the looks are great with a typical sleak samsung design and feels good in the hands as well.
Has got a brilliant Super amoled display which is reasonably sharp, vibrant and bright even in the broad sunlight. The only thing not so cool about the phone is the poor memory management
It has got 8 Gigs of internal storage out of which about 4Gigs is available for the user but unfortunately every software update that you make keeps on consuming the space.
The only thing I hate about the phone as a typical Indian user is that it does not save whatsapp media to the sd card i.e, the default memory is the internal storage which of course is a headache for moderate users who sends and receives a lots of stuff through Whatsapp. But luckily there are a bunch of third party apps that allows you to re-root the default pathway of whatsapp media from internal storage to sd card to get you out of the trouble of moving stuff from internal storage to sd card every once in a while it fills up.
It has got the typical Samsung Touchwiz UI on top of Android Lollipop 5.1.1 which does a great job and looks good as well.Another problem that I face with the galaxy J2 is that it turns itself off sometimes for no apparent reasons. And sometimes it wont turn back on if you just press the power button i.e, you will have to reinsert the battery in order to boot up the phone. This in fact may annoy some users when they are in an emergency and they cant even turn it on.The best thing I like about the phone is the camera. It does a perfect job for the price it has.It has got a 5Mp Primary shooter and a 2Mp secondary selfi snapper. The call quality and signal reception is okey(nothing to say about it).The selfi snapper in this phone is one of the best or THE BEST Ive seen in this price range .Ive uploaded untouched camera samples taken with the 5Mp Primary shooter.Gaming in this phone is just perfect, I mean for smaller games like Temple run and subway surfers. It handles most of the games fine with no much shutter lag and far less frame drops. But it does drop some frames while playing heavy games like asphalt 8 .But for the price you pay, you cant expect anything bigger than this. Overall It is a phone for the price you pay that is about 7500-7800 INR.You get a amazing phone with a gorgeous super amoled display and a superb camera.Samsung has done a decent job and along with its siblings in the J series, it does a fair job in most if the day to day situations.
