Among Samsung’s budget smartphones, the galaxy j7 prime is a sort of ok device laughed my samsung at price of Rs. 15900 for 16 gb model and Rs. 16900 for the 32 gb model(flipkart pricing).
DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY:
Samsung galaxy j7 prime is perfect in its design and feel. The corning gorilla glass 4 at the front and the full metal body at the back gives it a premium feel. It also has a notification led light which I feel samsung has done a good job. The shifting of the speaker grill from the button to the side is a also a smart approach for preventing sound muffling.
FEATURES AND SPECS:
The smartphone is having an Exynos 7870 octacore chipset which is quite efficient for day to day usage but for tasks like playing heavy games there, the phone often lags as the MALI- T830MP2 cannot take up such situations with ease. The samsung j7 prime runs on android marshmallow and soon will be getting the update of android nougat, so not to worry about that.
DISPLAY:
The smart phone is having a 5.5 inch TFT display. Now here lies a little disappointment as samsung did not provide an AMOLED display. Although the phone is quite bright but the difference is seen when an AMOLED dispaly is compared with the TFT display. So here lies a con of the device which further exceeds in the fact that it does not have an auto brightness sensor.
CAMERA:
The rear camera of the smartphone is 13 MP and the front camera has 8 MP. Camera shots are satisfactory but keeping in mind the price point of the device I would say the camera is crispy although low light shots are not that good.
STORAGE AND RAM:
The handset comes with a 16gb variant and a 32 gb variant both comprising of 3gb RAM. As per my suggestion goes the 32 gb model is worth the price because 16gb gets used up too fast in these days. Taking about the RAM managaement of the device, it refreshes third part apps during multi-tasking.
CONNECTIVITY AND EXTRAS:
The samsung j7 prime is a 4G enablde handset and supports jio 4g.
BATTERY LIFE:
The phone houses a 3300 mAh battery which easily runs a complete day. The battery management is fair in this device and does not show overheating issues with third pary apps.
COLOURS:
The handset comes in two shades: gold and black. Among these two the black variant looks and feels premium in hand and is very eye catchy.
