Samsung Note 3 Neo is my third Samsung phone. Samsung star and Samsung Grand 1st Generation were the predecessors to this phone. Samsung Grand was a disaster.
I bought Samsung Note 3 Neo from Samsung e-store. First piece shipped was defected and I was issued a Dead on Arrival certificate. It had couple of issues.
I had to waste my three working days from my office and fight in Samsung Okhla Service Center their to get the Dead on Arrival certificate issued as it was defected piece.
Their team was trying every bit to deny that the handset was defected. I recorded videos of the mobile phone issues as it happened and then their supervisor Sandeep issued DOA. After so many efforts I got DOA and finally got handset replaced.
I have observed that since I have installed 17-18 apps, I have to delete cache regularly and still there is a lag of a couple of seconds when I go to address book. Additionally, when you see pictures which have certain shades of blues or greys, you can see distortion. I was surprised to see the phone has Super Amoled screen and on the color front it was not up to the mark.
The battery life is good. With my Vodafone sim, I get around 1.5 days of battery life with 3G always connected. One of my major concern is the company promised lollipop upgrade but it has around 6 months they are not providing any information whether it will be upgraded or not.
Since Samsung took over the reigns from Nokia and due to huge sales the company has become adamant and thus now I feel there will be decline in sales in future. Motorola, Lenovo, Nexus, Micromax and other brands are catching up and eating Samsungs market share. If you ask me which android phone to buy I will advice you to go for Motorola or Nexus.
They give good hardware, all the android OS upgrades and good price points. In case your budget is less than 10K go for Lenovo or Micormax. Avoid shoddy korean Samsung products. Nobody would have believed 5-7 years back that Nokia will not exist one day. Samsung is following Nokias path. So dont be surprised if 5 -7years down the line if your kid asks you about Samsung mobile and you dont have a single piece to show to him because it only exist as antiques.
