Fraudulent sale by Samsung though its dealers by selling Galaxy SII GT-I9100G model in the box of GT-I9100in India. I have purchased Samsung Galaxy SII in Mumbai which clearly states Model No. Galaxy SII GT-I9100. However, after checking the instrument(when I came across problem in some games & 3D). I found that it is actually GT-I9100G, which has inferior processor & GPU in terms of performance.
The GT-I9100G is powered by Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 Chipset and PowerVR SGX540 GPU, which is a downgraded version as compared to the performance. It is generated by GT-I9100 model equipped with Exynos 4210 chipset and ARM Mali-400 GPU.
Furthermore, it is observed the CPU speed is capped at maximum 1008 Mhz and seldom goes up to 1.2 Ghz even under heavy load. The GT-I9100G model demonstrates its slower performance as compared to GT-I9100 in various graphic performance benchmark tests like GLBenchmark, NenaMark2, etc. Similarly, GT-I9100G lags with GT-I9100 in various CPU(processor) performance benchmarks.
Additionally, poor 3D performance has been noted from GT-I1900G model with low frame rates and even small lags were noted while jumping between applications. It is not worthy to mention that Samsung is misleading its customers with a different downgraded GT-I9100G model in the box of GT-I9100 model, without mentioning it anywhere on the box.
This is a legal offence under False Representation of the product & Unfair Trade Practice under MRTP/Competition Act, Consumer Protection Act of India, 1986.
All such innocent Indian customer who are cheated by Samsung should file a case with Samsung and sought replacement/compensation. If not adhered to, file a complaint with Consumer Courts/forums.
