This review is for Samsung I9100 and not for other Samsung S2 phones which carries the same name but different configurations. In India it is available as I9100G which is low configured.
with dual core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB RAM, this phone can handle any android applications on the market. AMOLED screen gives the true real life images for your eyes. 4.3 inch screen is the optimum size for any day to day users compared to massive 5inch+. 8.5mm slim form factor is awesome, and fits in your shirt easily.
1650mAh battery is bit of a lacking feature, but gets you through one day of normal usage. But good compared with HTC phones which has low mileage.
When it comes to connectivity, S2 is the complete solution. With WiFi N feature, it can transmit huge amount of data among networks. Low end GPRS and high end edge, 3G worked as a charm.
The signal quality is one of the best. Picking up signals from cell towers and WiFi signals is exceptional. S2 can also be used as a WiFi hotspot and worked as promised.
On-board GPS is bit of a lacking. Detecting satellites takes quite a time and accuracy is behind some rival phones. But still I am using it as a GPS device in car with google maps, which is good in terms.
Rear 8MP camera can compete with any point and shoot camera in the market. Rear camera takes full HD video, which is very good in quality. Front facing 2MP camera handles video chatting and video calling with ease. Using it as a skype device with occasional video calling in 3G.
Audio quality is exceptional if you are not using the supplied headphone. I am using Jabra headphone.
S2 has an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a digital compass to make your user experience interactive and convenient.
Been using this device as office documents viewer and editor. Using email applications is ease. Social network widgets gives you live connectivity with the world
With unlimited widgets and applications available for pretty much anything you can imagine from Android market, Android is exceptional in terms of usage. Unlike iPhone, Android allows you to install third part applications which makes the phone be in your control and not the vice versa.
Dropped it twice and the gorilla scratch resistant glass handled well compared with other similar phones.
