Think ten times before purchasing Samsung GalaxyS2

I purchased Galaxy S2 on line from Let’sbuy.com on 04 Jun 11. The order was processed on 06 Jun 11. I received the product on 09 Jun 11. The phone comes with screen protector both for mobile as well as for the screen. Overall the look of the mobile is excellent.


However on operating the product, a white bright line appeared on the middle of the screen extending from top to bottom. Alongwith this, few flashing white lights also intermittently appeared on the screen.** Initially I ignored about this. However on scrolling different pages/applications I found that the line is still persisting on the screen.


I talked with the Let’sbuy.com people.( It takes at least 10-15 minutes to get through the call, keeping the phone on hold). I told the people at Letsbuy.com that this is a brand new model which was hardly purchased one day back. They asked me to contact the Samsung customer care centre in delhi. The Delhi customer care people gave a no of customer care in Guwahati.


I quickly went to local(Guwahati) Samsung customer care centre and complained about the problem. These people said that there is problem with AMOLED Panel. As this is a brand new model these people here were clueless about the rectification. Then and there I contacted Letsbuy.com people(Ms Kiran) and made them speak to the person at Samsung customer care centre at Guwahati. The person at Samsung customere care centre told Ms Kiran that the product has an inbuilt problem and this should be replaced. After this the lady requested me to pack the product as it was received and someone from  the Letsbuy.com will come and pickup the product. She also told me to e-mail them about the problem. She assured me that the product will be replaced. However thereafter there was no communication. On 13 Jun 11 I again received another call from Letsbuy.com. They again asked me what is the problem. I told them in detail and also told them about the mail which I have already sent. However they feigned ignorance and told that I will get a call from the technical department in next two days and they will intimate me what is to be done. I told them that I was intimated earlier on 11 Jun 11 that this product will be taken back. By this time I had already packed the product and waiting that someone will come and pickup the package. Now I am clueless about what is going to happen. I think on line shopping for mobiles is not advisable. Especially if response from the franchises is like this. As far as Galaxy S2 Model the reviews are very much hyped. There is some technical problem in the machine which may be manifested in other samples also. Hence be careful before purchasing the product.
