After samsungs 1st droid in india the samsung galaxy i7500 didnt take-off pretty well, launching a next galaxy with droid, i thought would be a fatal disaster. But i was wrong, the day i bought it. It became my buddy. The galaxy spica i5700 doesnt resemble its elder bro i7500. But its astonishingly more powerful than i7500. And believe it or not, its the cheapest android powered phone in india (12900rs). When i unboxed it, usual refinements like a charger, earphones, 2gb card, data cable, pc-suite cd, handset of course and a manual. Switchin on the handset shows a cool samsung animation on its large(not so large) 3.2" capacitive touch display with 16 million color resolution, the galaxy i5700 is powered by 800mhz processor and android 2.1(eclair), but the sad thing for droid lovers is that it doesnt support live-wallpapers. The 3.2mp camera is a champ its pretty much best cam ive seen among 3.2mp cam phones, but the auto-focus feature is a damn slow one ( coz of only 1 stage cam key ). The video recording quality is bit underrated but its not of any prob (youll get used to it).
Xpandable memory is upto 32 gb ( well you aint got 32gb mem card, but it handles the 16gb pretty well). Well as in android 2.1 the net browser is extremely good but it lacks flash support and multi-touch support so u cant pinch zoom ( you cant blame it after all youre just paying 12k, dont expect it to be like moto milestone ).. Applications are enormous you can run all the apps from android market. The sound quality is awesome with its dnse engine and its pretty loud as well. The divx player is a hit, it runs all divx codecs without additional support software ( i bet u wouldnt find a phone worth 12k with droid and divx player ). The battery life is amazing on 1 charge it runs for almost 3 days ( i browsed the web for an hour, few smss, 30 min of video watching, 10 min of talking and 1hr of gaming). Wi-fi and bt 2.1+edr and 3g with hsdpa 3.6 mbps will ensure your wireless connectivity is good. And a-gps support wont let you get lost, and Google maps is a usual refinement with droid. And handling the slim beauty is easy ( handle with care! ).
Conclusion: Well, if you dont wanna spend 20k plus on a high-end android phone but want an android this ones made for it, a budget droid phone with all specs of a 20k plus phone. Dont think twice buy it. This amazing handset wont let you down. The good news is the new android upgrade (2.2freyo) is gonna come up soon, and this device supports it, so you can expect multi-touch and flash support. Its a must buy (well im not forcing you to).
