Bought the Galaxy S 4 weeks back. First 2 weeks were fine except that the phone would become painfully slow if 3-4 apps were open. Else browsing on Airtel Edge network was superfast and using my home WiFi, was as good as my computer. Download speed for apps is brilliant. Quality of still pictures is good, though pics look flat without any depth to speak of.
However, 2 weeks after purchase, the experience went rapidly downhill. the phone switches off 3-4 times a day. The music player suddenly starts playing on its own. It starts giving funny messages about force closing some applications that arent even open.Called Samsung. They asked me to take it to a service center. Called al service centers in Gurgaon.after 2 days, one of them picked up the phone(was calling to check whether they exist.have had a bad experience in the past hunting for an HTC service center that had moved!). Finally someone picked up the phone at one of the service centers and guess what - she tells me coolly that they normally dont pick up phones at any service center - but not to worry - just land up at any of them with your faulty phone and they would reinstall the software. And then she hastens to add that I must not land up today because the engineer hasnt turned up and they are sick of turning people away since morning!
Dont know if I am the only one facing this problem of the phone switching off, etc. But hope Samsung is listening and puts its sodding service in place.
I would have recommended this phone to friends but for the poorly managed service network. I dont mind being(hopefully) a rare unlucky one to have a defective handset but sloppy after sales service is unpardonable.
